Tennis Elbow 2013 v1.0j [Mac & Linux]

Postby manutoo » 03 Sep 2017, 13:48

Hello,

Tennis Elbow 2013 Mac & Linux v1.0j are released (Build 114-2017.9.3) :
OSX : https://www.managames.com/download.php? ... c_fe1j.zip [Permanent direct download link to the latest version]
Linux : https://www.managames.com/download.php?TeLinux_fe1j.zip

/!\ Warning Linux: (I didn't update the game on Linux, if you want the v1.0j, ask me ! )
- when you update to a newer version, you have to transfer the "Profiles" subfolder from your previous TE2013's directory to the new installation folder to keep your saved games ; do not overwrite your current game folder with the new one, else you'll lose your saved games (they might end in the bin, so still in recoverable state, though). Copy over your "Key.Txt" as well. Then launch the game & select your Profile if you had created one.

/!\ Warning Mac OSX:
- if you have a version without the "Documents/Tennis Elbow 2013" folder, then to keep your saved games you have to transfer the "Profiles" subfolder and your Key.txt from your previous TE2013's directory to the "Documents/Tennis Elbow 2013" folder (it'll be created the 1st time you run the game).

New Features :
- Rendering : the game can now render at a higher framerate than 60 fps, up to 144 fps, which makes the balls more fluid ; and even at 60 fps, the rendering should be a bit less jerky

Notes :
- Changelog of previous versions is here : topic15-27291.php

SubBuild 2017.9.20, September 26th:

New Features :
- Rendering : added the possibility to disable the smooth rendering in Video -> Advanced (visible when the "Advanced Options" in Misc Options menu are turned on), so if you want to test it out, it's possible, although it shouldn't change anything except make the rendering a bit jerky ;)

Changes :
- Fps : fps counter timing changed, so it might be more accurate after have played the game for a few hours

Bug Fixes :
- Replay : Ball & its shadow were de-doubled during replay
- Rendering : Ball was teleporting right at the beginning of each point & each 2nd serve
- Menus : mouse wheel was working randomly when the rendering was faster than 60 fps
- Controls : it was not possible to assign new key/new button in the Controls menu when having 60 fps, and it wasn't working all the time when having more than 60fps

SubBuild 2017.10.20, October 20th:

Bug Fixes :
- World Tour : in Season Mode, the future rankings of your player were not initialized correctly when you didn't start the season on his 1st year ; so you were getting the 2nd rank of the player life on the 2nd season, instead of the correct rank
- World Tour : the Player ranked 9 at the Race could end twice in the Master Cup draw if he had won a Grand Slam and a Top 8 player was missing the Master Cup
- Menu : some lines were way too thick instead of being thin

Bug Fixes :
- World Tour : fixed a couple of rare issues
- Modding : fixed a crash when setting a wrong SurfaceSpeed in a Court.ini

Hi ManuToo. I purchased the game back in 2013 for Linux and have been playing it for many years :D . Now I have just started playing again and I have seen that there is this new update I have downloaded it. I wanted to ask you: what I downloaded is version 1.0j? Because I read in this topic that if I want version 1.0j for Linux I have to ask you. Let me know? Thank you.

P.S. I also saw that you are working on the TE4 version. I took a quick look at the topic, will you also make the Linux version? But surely my old PC will have to be updated, in fact I don't think it supports the new game (I have a core 2 duo as cpu, video card nvidia 9600 gt, 4 gb Ram).

Actarus69,
it might be the v1.0i ; you can check it in the Credits menu.

For TE4, your GPU needs to have drivers with Vulkan support, which unfortunately seems not to be the case for the 9600GT : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GeForce_9_series .

Hi Manutoo, thanks for the answers. I checked the downloaded and installed version, it is 1.0i. Where can I download version 1.0j?

As for the nvidia 9600gt video card, I'm going to assemble a new pc within this year, so I shouldn't have any problems running the Linux version of TE4. If I have other questions to ask you I will ask you in the appropriate topic, a topic that I will follow with interest :)

I should build it, but I really don't have the time to look into that lately.
Its main point is to play above 60 fps. Do you have a monitor supporting refreshing rates abot 60hz ?

I have a Dell 2209WA monitor, max resolution 1680x1050 at 60hz, and I'm not going to change it. So if I understand the v1.0j update, it is not necessary for me because I should have a monitor with a refresh rate greater than 60hz to appreciate it, right?

But one question: will I be able to play the Linux version of TE4 with my monitor? (after obviously assembled a new pc)

Hi manutoo, I tried installing TE13 on Linux Mint 19.3 32-bit, but after extracting the package and clicking on TennisElbow2013, nothing happens. Do you know what's the problem?

JiJo,
no idea. Look for error info somewhere (eg: use the Terminal to launch the game).

Can't mod the Mac version.
I guys I've just downloaded the Demo version of the game for Mac, and I try to mod it to see if would like it so I can buy the full version. I've followed a few totorials but I can make the mod work. The base game runs fine, and when I put the moded files in the folders and start the game again, it runs just as fine but with no mod at all. Can some one help me with that? I don't wanna buy the game and find out I can't have my favorite plays in it.

Thanks

James Couto,
for general install instructions of Mods, read here : topic29-11960.php .
And check this Mod which I know works on Mac if you follow its install instructions correctly (including the extra step only for MacOS) : topic29-24824.php .
