BlackyM - S. Williams 4-6, 3-6
Luck or not...well not sure...but I think that I was big luck...more in the following post
First set,
He opened with his serve, and it was quite reserved, i thought that i won't have much chances so I wasn't ready for what was coming, and I lost that game just because of that.
Second game, he pressed hard he had 4 BPs (7 in whole match - so that you can understand that statistics are not quite true), I saved them all, and won that game.
Then I got my chance at 30-40, I sent lob he missed and I had break. I also confirmed it with my serve and had 3-1.
Then he came to 3-2, and at 30-30 he played drop shot...what happened...ball fell on the top of the net and fell on my side of the court. He found him self with new BP quite sudden and then I made abnormal mistake and he got back to the set at 3-3.
Then at 5-4 for him, after deuce on his serve at 4-4, at 15-15, he again played drop shot, and again the same situation happened, I tried to keep up and I got next point, but lost another two after that (stupid smash and missed ball (not lob, but just missed ball)), because I was impatient.
He won the set, quite not deserved, and just on more practice.
But in that set, he also made several stupid mistakes.
At conclusion of first set..he had 6 BPs (4 in second game, one in 6th game after lucky drop shot, one in 10th game after lucky drop shot)
Second set,
We both opened good. but at 2-1 for him he found him self with another super lucky drop shot at 15-15, and at 30-30 another similar situation where he tried to make a winner but ball cached the net and fell in my court. Well I was pissed and impatient and I tried to smash the ball...of course I lost my service.
But then I pressed hard and had 30-40, and I successfully lobbed him...but as we all now the BUG, if you run backwards on the ball you will hit her, and if you press in right moment ball will be probably a uncatchable. Well, that is what he done...
After I lobbed him I ran to the net so that I can smash the ball (because I saw that he'll catch the ball), but he punched it back like it was just ordinary forhand and got me surprised. That was for 40-40, after that he won another two points.
Then he had 4-1.
After that I kept my serve, I battled another deuce on his serve at 4-2, and I saved one Match point for 40-30 but he won another one. And won the set 6-3.
Conclusion of the match.
I was close, more luckier Williams has more shots that he can play, and that decided the match. Luck + random uncommon shots.
ps. I have screen of him saying "I was just lucky" for three times after every drop shot that I pointed
