If the CPU was looking at what keys you were pressing to flawlessly anticipate your strikes, I'd call that cheating.
If the physics rules were changed so his strikes were most successful than yours, I'd call that cheating.
The skill boost is not hidden as it's explained in the documentation, and it makes sense in term of tennis ; ie: a stronger opponent is an opponent with better skills, so if you called for a better opponent, you shouldn't be surprised that's the case ; you can call that cheating if you want, but it's not much relevant.
The CPU not being tied to his strike preparation length to be able to aim left/right is not to give him an advantage, but to be more realistic.
And he doesn't have any bonus on his drop shot, except the skill bonus as explained above.
